Teachers, parents, and other academic professionals always say that the youth of America are the future of America, which is why the youth of America should be educated to the highest extent available. One thing that might prevent some of the nation’s smartest youth from becoming incredibly successful as they grow older is their health habits, lack of health insurance, or an increase in obesity. Information released about the age group of 18 to 29 year olds came from “Health, United States: 2008,” from the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s 32nd annual review of the country’s health. Obesity rates for 18 to 29 years olds has tripled since 1970, when the number was at 8 percent, up to 24 percent from 2005-2006. (more…)

X-Rays and Health
Posted by dailyhealthexaminer in General HealthX-rays are an important part of the medical field when it comes to determining whether or not people have broken bones, blood clots, tumors, cavities and other medical conditions. X-rays are used commonly across the country by millions of doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel. X-rays have helped to save lives over the past handful of decades by detecting tumors at an early stage. X-rays have also helped doctors determine the proper course of treatment for cancer patients and patients who have broken, shattered, or fractured bones. It is important though for doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel to examine each use of an x-ray on a patient so that the patient is not exposed to a large amount of cumulative radiation during their lifetime. Throat Cancer
Posted by dailyhealthexaminer in General HealthCancer is one of the leading diseases that result in death in not only the United States each year but also across the world. There has been no definitive cure found for cancer but some treatments and therapies have been found to work better than others on certain forms of cancer. The survival rate for cancer depends on the stage the disease is in when it has been discovered in the body of the patient. One form of cancer, which is diagnosed in roughly 24,000 Americans each year, is known as throat cancer. Throat cancer affects the throat (pharynx) or the voice box (larynx). Half of the cases diagnosed each year affect the pharynx and the other half affects the larynx. (more…)
Staying Mentally Healthy
Posted by dailyhealthexaminer in General HealthMental health is perhaps one of the most important things a person can focus on during their lifetime aside from physical and emotional health. Prison is Bad for Criminals’ Health
Posted by dailyhealthexaminer in General HealthThere are hundreds of prisons across the country housing thousands, if not millions of criminals for crimes they have been convicted of committing. Some of those criminals are appealing the ruling on their case, which could include life in prison, a shorter term, or the death penalty depending on the state they where they are serving time. Miami Doctor Wins National Recognition
Posted by dailyhealthexaminer in General HealthHaving health insurance is not guaranteed if you live in the United States. Instead, employers can provide their employees with health insurance if they are full-time employees. A full-time employee is one who works 40 or more hours per week and has applied for the company’s benefit package. There are thousands of people who own their own business or who work for themselves, which means that no one provides them with health insurance. If this is the case, health insurance can be purchased from health insurance companies in each individual state. Some people in this country can get lucky and visit a doctor who will continue to treat the patient even if they lose medical coverage while in the care of the doctor. There is one such doctor in this country who performs this charity and has been nationally recognized for his work. (more…)
